Steps to record screen:
Resize the box so it covers the part of the screen you would like to record. To use presets, click on drop-down in the toolbar.
Move the box by dragging ONLY the 3 lines on the side of the toolbar or the center message.
Make sure camera and microphone volume is configured.
Click record button (red circle).
Wait for countdown (3 seconds).
Record. You may move box around during recording ONLY by the 3 lines on the side of the toolbar.
When you want to pause, OPTION-P or click the pause button.
Pausing:
When paused, you may change the size of the window by either dragging the corners or choosing from the drop-down.
Most useful feature: playback.
Click green play button to play back from the beginning.
If you need to restart at a certain point, stop the play back.
Click the red record button.
You will get this message:
Click Truncate.
This will start at the moment you stopped playback.
Uploading:
You can playback your whole video on the bottom black bar.
Choose where you want to publish to (Screencast-O-Matic.com, YouTube, or a video file to your Thawspace).
- YouTube:
1) Set title.
2) Set description.
3) Set tags.
4) Set category.
5) Set privacy (Public, Unlisted, Private)
6) Add captions (if necessary)
7) Change options:
8) Save.
- Video File to Thawspace or USB:
1) Change the video type to the one you want. There are 4 options:
2) Set size and quality. 3) Add captions. 4) Customize options: 5) After clicking "Save Video" it will prompt you to choose where to save it to.
